I&O Medical Centers Extend Services to Include Families

As I&O Medical Centers have expanded, so has the scope of our services. Today, in addition to serving as the “company doctor” for large and small businesses throughout the region, we also serve as the “family doctor” for a growing number of Tidewater area patients.

I&O Medical Centers provide all of the services of any family medicine practice, including school and work physicals, treatment for colds, sore throats, earaches and bad backs, blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring, allergy testing, and more. We do sports physicals for children at camp or summer sports at reasonable prices.

But I&O also offers some unique advantages for patients, including four easily accessible locations, extended and weekend hours (when many other doctor’s offices are closed), on-site lab equipment, vision and hearing tests, EKG, x-ray, and trauma bays for emergencies. We are one of the few practices to have our own Slit Lamp for removal of fragments in the eye. For serious eye emergencies, we refer to the appropriate ophthalmological specialist. Many I&O physicians also have Emergency Room experience and are adept at handling minor emergencies such as broken bones and lacerations.

I&O offers digital x-ray technology and referrals to many MRI locations, including those that perform Extremity MRI, Open multi-positional MRI and Closed MRI, depending on the patient’s needs. Referral can be done same or next day.

I&O Medical Centers provide personal care to the employees of many area companies, offering prompt attention to all of their healthcare needs and referrals to local specialists when necessary. Walk-ins are welcome – a practice not often seen in family medicine – and we accept every major insurance carrier.
